Lake maintenance update: compressor noise reduced but tone remains concern; QA audit finds no compliance issues

At the July 23 River Ridge CDD meeting, Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported routine maintenance results and changes to equipment intended to reduce noise at Masters Lake. Kurth said a cabinet installed around the compressor cut the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels in the area between the compressor and the screen line, which he described as acceptable in his view.
Operations Manager Shane Willis cautioned that the remaining problem is less the decibel level and more the "tone of the aerator," and he discussed the possibility of moving the compressor within easement constraints. Mr. Willis will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth to consider relocation and report findings at the next meeting. The board reached consensus against planting Canna lilies, and staff placed Lake E4-A plantings on hold pending agreement with the Edgewater Association.
Willis also presented the Annual Quality Assurance Audit for lake maintenance and dry retention. He reported generally high water levels this season but concluded there are no compliance issues with the dry retention areas and that lake conditions have improved under Premier Lakes’ maintenance; Willis said the audit will be performed earlier next year to better align with seasonal conditions.
The board discussed scheduling and coordination with Edgewater condominium representatives regarding littoral plantings and rip-rap at Lake E4-A; Mr. Schultz recommended a meeting with Edgewater leadership to identify a mutually acceptable solution.
Next steps: Mr. Willis will coordinate compressor-location options with Premier Lakes staff and report back; Lake E4-A plantings are on hold until an agreement with the Edgewater Association is reached.
