River Ridge CDD adopts FY2024/25 budget and approves special assessments

The River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors adopted its fiscal year 2024/2025 budget and imposed associated special assessments during its Aug. 27, 2024 meeting.
District Manager Chuck Adams told the board the budget packet on the agenda contained scrivener errors. After a public hearing with no members of the public speaking, the board adopted Resolution 2024-07, relating to annual appropriations and adopting the budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Sept. 30, 2025, as amended. On the same record the board opened a public hearing on Resolution 2024-08 and, after directing the deletion of all references to “Exhibit B,” adopted the resolution making a determination of benefit and imposing special assessments for the fiscal year.
Both resolutions were approved on motions by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly, with all supervisors voting in favor. Mrs. Adams confirmed no affected property owners spoke during either public hearing and Mr. Tony Pires recommended the public hearing for the assessment resolution.
The board authorized staff to make budget amendments and provided an effective date for the adopted budget and assessment roll. Specific line-item corrections noted at the hearing included a corrected description for “Street sweeping” flagged by Mr. Blumenthal; additional budget detail was to be supplied in follow-up materials.
The board also highlighted upcoming reporting obligations tied to these financial actions: under newly enacted HB7013, special districts must publish annual goals, performance measures and standards; the initial report is due Dec. 1, 2025 and must be posted on the district website.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
