Social services staff reported seven adult financial cases, four behavioral-health administration cases, two child-welfare investigations (one dependency and neglect case transferred from Montezuma County), about 275 Medicaid cases (the presenter clarified that this is a count of cases, not individuals), 40 child-support cases, and 15 LEAP applications processed so far this season (compared with 107 last year).
Staff said a court order concerning SNAP benefits has been issued but the county has not yet received state confirmation about benefit release. The county continues local supports—food drives and coordination for county SNAP recipients—and staff scheduled a meeting later that day with CDHS and other directors to review SNAP and Medicaid budget requests.
The board approved routine financial items for September and accepted the record of proceedings for Nov. 3. Social services staff asked commissioners to share any specific concerns before the scheduled interagency discussions and to provide any local data they want raised with state officials.
The county did not announce a timetable for the state response on SNAP benefit distribution.
