Granbury council authorizes updated interlocal agreement with Hood County Appraisal District

Granbury — The Granbury City Council on June 16 approved an updated interlocal cooperative agreement with the Hood County Appraisal District to govern property tax assessment and collection services, authorizing the city manager to execute the document.
City staff told council the existing agreement dated to 1980 and that the update was necessary. Staff and the city attorney reviewed the proposed agreement and made a few small edits; staff recommended execution. A council member asked staff reviewer Jeremy whether additional changes were needed; Jeremy said no and that staff and other reviewers had addressed the issues.
Council moved to approve the agreement and authorized the city manager to sign. The motion passed unanimously, 5–0. The council did not discuss any substantive policy changes to assessment or collection authority during the open session; staff said the agreement was acceptable to both the city and the appraisal district.
The approval authorizes the city manager to execute the interlocal cooperative agreement and replaces the prior document from 1980. Staff will finalize execution details and return any required administrative confirmations to council if needed.
