Ulen board plans construction-traffic signage for Elmwood after volunteer offer; historic markers confirmed delivered
Summary

The Ulen board discussed safety signage for upcoming Elmwood construction and confirmed the delivery and disposition of historic markers.
Members said Brian Hoskins volunteered to help pay for temporary construction-traffic signs to direct vehicles during the work. The board discussed several sign options — bright orange construction signs, directional arrows, A-frame "for sale" style signs and larger 24-by-36-inch signs on stands — and settled on ordering three signs to be placed at key points to direct construction traffic and reduce disruption. Members estimated about $100 per sign including a stand and discussed reusing county-owned A-frames for short-term placement and storing town-owned signs for future needs.
Separately, the board confirmed that historic markers had been delivered: a marble plaque was taken to the country club and the National Register plaque will be embedded in a new sign. Members named Gabe as the person who took one of the markers.
Next steps: staff will select sign designs, confirm budget and storage, and place an order. Members asked that staff obtain a photo of preferred sign styles and return with a cost estimate.
