Principals report expansion of dual-credit courses and student achievements at Tri-Township

Tri-Township junior-senior high and elementary principals updated the board on programming and student successes during the March 2 meeting.
High school Principal Brian McMahan reported February progress including 15 dual-credit courses currently offered through an Ivy Tech partnership, plans to add Speech and explore AP or additional dual-credit options in math and social studies, and work toward the Indiana College Core alignment. He also noted student achievements: several students advanced in ISSMA contests, a team qualified for the Personal Finance state finals, Brecken Ramirez won his regional NBA 2K esports competition and will compete March 29 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and robotics and Go-Kart programs are advancing toward upcoming competitions.
Elementary Principal Alissa Clemons highlighted the launch of a Weekend Food program, school spelling bee winners (elementary winner Aidan Vinciguerra; junior-high winner Orion Pottle), PLC work on growth and stretch data, and continuing winter sports such as 5/6 girls basketball.
Both principals described steps to expand course access and extracurricular opportunities; no formal board actions on curriculum changes were taken at the March 2 meeting.
