Main Street Mile Initiative: sidewalks, lighting and library renovation move forward in Upland

Andrea Masevero of 1846 Enterprises updated the Upland Town Council on the Main Street Mile Initiative on July 15, outlining timelines and related downtown projects.
Masevero said the sidewalk and lighting project is expected to be complete by the end of August. She announced a groundbreaking ceremony for the library renovation scheduled for Aug. 31 at 4:00 p.m.
She described planning for a mixed‑use space between the library and NearSpace Education and said the old Methodist Church at 123 W. Washington will be renovated for temporary use by the TU Advancement Department for one to two years. Masevero also said work is under way on a two‑mile Cardinal Greenway expansion down 600 S starting at 8th Street, and that Kershner Commons will be expanded using READE 2.0 funds to create more family housing.
Council members thanked the Historical Society and Andrea Masevero for the presentation. No formal council action or vote on the projects was recorded during the meeting.
