Broken Bow council approves extension to Eagle Crest project milestone
Summary
The council approved Change Order #2 for the Eagle Crest project, moving the substantial-completion milestone from Dec. 31, 2024 to May 1, 2025; city administration said weather and an aggressive fall paving schedule prompted the extension and it will not alter the project completion date.

The Broken Bow City Council voted Nov. 26 to approve Eagle Crest Change Order #2 with JEO Consulting Group Inc., extending the project’s "substantial completion" milestone from Dec. 31, 2024, to May 1, 2025.
Administrator Schmidt told the council the schedule extension was not unexpected: the original timeline had been aggressive for fall paving and colder weather; he said the milestone change would not change the overall project completion date. The council approved the change order on a roll-call vote with Councilmembers Russ Smith, Luke Wassom and Chris Myers voting aye.
The minutes note the Eagle Crest work in the context of other capital needs and the city’s broader reserve strategy; no cost increase tied specifically to this change order is recorded in the minutes.
