State Budget Committee adopts minutes and agenda, requests several follow-ups

The State Budget Committee unanimously adopted the June 2025 minutes and the Aug. 6, 2025 meeting agenda during its Fort Wayne session.
Representative Jeff Thompson moved to adopt the minutes; Representative Gregory Porter seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Later in the meeting, Representative Thompson again moved to adopt the day’s agenda; Representative Porter seconded and the committee carried the motion unanimously.
Members asked for follow-up documents and reports during the meeting. Representative Ed DeLaney requested occupancy and operational-cost information for the Miami Correctional Facility; Director Kevin Orme agreed to provide a report. Director Chad Ranney of the State Budget Agency said the SBA has a report on the impact of federal grant reductions and will provide it to the committee. Chairman Ryan Mishler and other members asked that staff share requested data after the meeting.
