At its Sept. 17 meeting in Terre Haute the State Budget Committee took several procedural actions before substantive reviews.
The committee unanimously approved the August 2025 minutes after a motion by Senator David Niezgodski and a second from Representative Jeff Thompson.
Director Chad Ranney moved to remove Review Item 2 (Department of Health) from the agenda because of a scheduling conflict; Representative Jeff Thompson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Representative Gregory Porter moved to remove Agency Project 7 (the Department of Correction request for Miami Correctional Facility). That manual roll-call vote was recorded as: Representative Gregory Porter — Yes; Director Chad Ranney — No; Chairman Ryan Mishler — No; Representative Jeff Thompson — No; Senator David Niezgodski — Yes. The motion failed 3–2 and the project remained on the agenda.
Representative Jeff Thompson moved to approve the agenda; Senator David Niezgodski seconded and the motion passed 4–1. Representative Jeff Thompson adjourned the meeting at 12:07 PM.
No appropriation votes were recorded at the meeting; the committee’s votes pertained to agenda management and minutes.
