Patagonia committee raises use-permit fee, approves school-district permit revision

At its Feb. 10 meeting the Town of Patagonia Planning & Development Committee approved several formal items, including a fee increase and a change to a school‑district use permit.
The committee voted unanimously to raise the use‑permit fee from $25 to $69. Chairperson Laurie Monti made the motion and Committee member Georgette Larrouy seconded; the motion carried without dissent.
The committee also approved a revision to the Patagonia School District use permit for Elementary School No. 6 (Old Main) to allow remodeling into teacher apartments and to change the responsible party on the permit from Ralph Schmitt to Michael Young. The motion was made by Chairperson Laurie Monti, seconded by Georgette Larrouy, and was approved by all who voted; Nancy McCoy recused herself because she is a member of the Patagonia Elementary School Board.
At the start of the meeting the committee approved the Jan. 13, 2026 meeting minutes (motion by Nancy McCoy, second by Victor Romo) and at the end of the session the committee adjourned at 7:21 p.m. (motion by Laurie Monti, second by Georgette Larrouy).
