Granville announces 2026 Summer Concert Series, LARAC $3,500 grant and plans for July 2 fireworks

Mayor Paul Labas reviewed the Village’s 2026 Summer Concert Series at the April 6 organizational meeting, noting longer headline sets for three acts and returning performers such as the Granville-Poultney Town Band, which will play four Sunday evenings in August.
Labas announced the Village received a $3,500 grant from the Lake Area Regional Arts Council (LARAC) to support the concert series; he credited the grant and local business and civic donations with helping the Village afford higher-quality performers and additional events. The mayor thanked the Clerk’s office and DPW for coordinating the series.
The board also authorized the Clerk-Treasurer to apply for a fireworks permit with the Town of Granville for a display at the Little League Complex on Thursday, July 2, at dusk. Associated special events tied to the first three concerts include a fireworks display (July 2), a dessert social hosted by the Pember Library & Museum, the Chamber’s Baked Potato Bonanza (July 9), and a Free Ice Cream Night sponsored by Arrow Bank (July 16).
Trustee Paul Garrone moved to authorize application for the fireworks permit; Trustee Heather Leaman seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
