The Granville Village Board adopted the 2026–27 tentative budget as published on the Village website during its April 6 organizational meeting.
Trustee Paul Garrone moved to adopt the tentative budget; Trustee Denise Davies seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The board then audited and approved payment of claims totaling $92,697.25 across the General, Water, Sewer and Senior Shuttle funds and unaudited vouchers. Clerk-Treasurer Rick Roberts circulated budget transfers to prevent overdrawing line items: a $3,600 transfer to the DPW contingency in the General Fund to cover salt costs, a $4,700 shift in the Water Fund to cover NYSEG delivery and increased chemical costs, and an $18,500 transfer in the Sewer Fund to cover higher contractual and fuel costs. Deputy Mayor Dean Hyatt moved approval of the transfers; Trustee Paul Garrone seconded and the motions carried unanimously.
The board also ratified routine governance items and departmental reports, including confirmation of the Official Village Newspaper, official depositories, procurement and investment policies for 2026–27, and acceptance of monthly reports from the Police, Water (three satisfactory samples), Fire, Local Ordinance Officer and Village Court.
All votes reported at the meeting were unanimous. The board did not note further public comment on the budget during the hearing earlier that evening.
