Granville adopts updated flood-plain administration law after DEC edits

Board members said the update aims to align local regulations with the latest flood mapping for the Mettowee River and to remove ambiguities about enforcement and administration. Clerk-Treasurer Rick Roberts noted the DEC review led to non-substantive editorial changes, which the board accepted as part of the ratification.
The law was adopted in open session following a public hearing at which no members of the public signed in to comment. The village did not announce an effective date for the local law at the meeting; procedural follow-ups and publication are expected to follow the board's ratification.
