Wynnedale council approves contract with Kieser Consulting after CCMG grant award

Wynnedale Town Council on March 11, 2025 approved a $10,800 contract with Kieser Consulting Group to support roadwork funded by a recently approved CCMG award for South Wynnedale.

The council said the award will reduce the town's out-of-pocket costs for the project. Kieser Consulting Group, the town's engineering firm, will publish a bid notice in the Indy Star on March 13 and March 20; bids are due April 8 by 4:00 p.m. The bids will be presented to the council at its April 8 meeting for contractor selection. The council also noted that the signed contract with the selected firm and the finalized grant contract with INDOT must be completed by April 30.

The motion to approve the contract with Kieser Consulting Group was made by Ann Hildner, President, and seconded by Juana Johnson; the council voted unanimously to approve the contract, according to the minutes. The minutes list the contract amount as $10,800 and state that represents 7.2% of the grant proposal amount.

Council members also discussed plans for a second CCMG application to fund roadwork in North Wynnedale; work on that application is scheduled to begin June 1 with the application due June 30, 2025. As part of the contracting steps for the current award, the council voted to authorize Jarnell Craig, the clerk-treasurer, as the town's authorized signatory for all CCMG-related documents. That motion (moved by Ann Hildner and seconded by Cheryl McBride) passed unanimously.

Next steps: bids will be accepted through April 8 and contractor selection will occur at the council's April 8 meeting; the council must complete the contract signing with the chosen firm and INDOT by April 30.
