Wolcottville — Clerk-Treasurer Heidi Huff told the Wolcottville Town Council on Oct. 14 that state auditors who had been in the office for under a month will not proceed with the 2020–2023 audit until the town resolves issues in its records.
Huff said she had been advised by Town Attorney Kurt Bachman to contact Financial Services Group to clarify exactly what the auditors want the records to show. According to the minutes, the auditors requested that the town resolve the record discrepancies within 30 days so they can return and continue the audit.
No formal motion was recorded on this item during the meeting. Council members did not record a vote or set a formal deadline beyond the auditors' request; the clerk and attorney identified Financial Services Group as a consultant to assist with clarifying records.
