The Decal Township Board of Trustees approved a set of operational resolutions and routine financial items at its June 16 meeting.
Fuel IGA: The board approved resolution 2026-003T, an intergovernmental agreement with Cal Township Road District that allows township staff to purchase fuel from the road district and details reimbursement and pump access procedures. Highway Commissioner Smith said on-site fuel delivered to the road district and dispensed to township vehicles is typically "somewhere around 80 cents to a dollar cheaper per gallon," including delivery, compared with retail fuel. Trustees approved the IGA by roll call.
Deputy clerk appointment: The board approved resolution 2026-004T appointing Tiffany Martin, the township’s administrative assistant, as deputy township clerk to provide backup coverage for routine work hours. The supervisor said the appointment is intended to ensure business continuity when the clerk is unavailable; roll-call votes were recorded in favor.
Accounting contract: Trustees authorized a one-year renewal of an agreement with Keith and Associates Accounting for quarterly payroll review, tax filings and year-end W-2 preparation. The supervisor noted the consultant’s visits are infrequent (fewer than 10 last year) and that the contractor helps keep the township’s QuickBooks and filings aligned with auditors.
Budget and bills: The board approved June bills to pay (town and general assistance and road district amounts were presented on the record) and accepted the treasurer’s May budget reports by roll call.
Votes at a glance: - Resolution 2026-003T (IGA with Cal Township Road District for fuel): approved (roll-call vote recorded). - Resolution 2026-004T (appoint Tiffany Martin deputy township clerk): approved (roll-call vote recorded). - Keith and Associates Accounting one-year agreement: approved (roll-call vote recorded). - June bills to pay and May audit/expenditure acceptance: approved (roll-call votes recorded).
What happens next: Staff will implement the fuel-ticket procedure and begin fuel-sharing under the IGA; Tiffany Martin will serve as deputy clerk during work hours; the accounting services and budget items will proceed per the approved contracts and reports.
