Woodburn council approves minutes, adopts Resolution 25-288 and awards $38,725 Boyce Cloud quote; Gentz elected council president

The Woodburn City Council unanimously approved routine business at its Jan. 5, 2026 meeting, adopting Resolution 25-288 and approving a $38,725 quote from Boyce Cloud for a city project, and elected Council Member Gentz as Council President for 2026.
Clerk-Treasurer Hileman presented the Dec. 1, 2025 minutes and the warrants. Council Member Sarrazine moved to approve the minutes “as corrected,” and Council Member Gerig seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Sarrazine then moved to approve payment of the warrants, with Gerig seconding; that motion also carried unanimously.
The council adopted Resolution 25-288 after a motion from Council Member Sarrazine and a second from Council Member Graber; the motion carried unanimously. The council likewise approved a Boyce Cloud quote for $38,725 after Sarrazine moved and Graber seconded the motion; the motion carried unanimously.
During council members’ reports, Gentz updated the body on the Woodburn Trail project application, a proposed summer sprinkler program ordinance, ARPA and fiber-project updates, and work by the ordinance review committee. Sarrazine moved, and Gerig seconded, to elect Council Member Gentz as Council President for 2026; the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes record that Mayor Kelsey was not present. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 8:05 p.m.; the next Common Council meeting is scheduled for Jan. 19 at 7:00 p.m.
