Wolcottville council approves multiple building permits, utility adjustments and festival spending

Utility Clerk Tiffany Sprunger presented a package of inspected permits for work in town, including a deck by Ziprite Enterprises LLC, a new home and driveway permit for Marion Schmucker, a sunroom by Raber Patio, and an interior remodel by Brad and Jessica Grim. Vice President Steven Cords moved to approve the inspected permits; Council Member Jeff Sorg seconded and the council approved the permits by voice vote.
Sprunger also presented several requests to adjust sewer charges for customers who filled pools, watered gardens, or had overnight hoses; example adjustments included $27.72, $40.53, $55.18, $50.00, $152.07 and $17.48. The council approved the requested billing adjustments after a motion by Steven Cords and second by Jeff Sorg.
On funding, Tiffany Sprunger, speaking for the Wolcottville Improvement Committee, asked to use the Town Improvement Fund for the community festival on Aug. 30, 2025; the council approved the request. Clerk-Treasurer Heidi Huff reported two certificates of deposit at Farmers State Bank are maturing and recommended reinvestment; the council voted to reinvest both CDs.
One building permit for 416 Park St. was placed on hold after town staff reported the structure had already been converted into an apartment with more than one half bathroom; the council directed follow-up notifications and potential future actions if the resident does not comply with town ordinances.
