North Miami hires Karise Kabage as middle/high principal; board approves multiple personnel moves

Karise Kabage, whose appointment the board approved by a recorded motion, said she was honored to be selected and that she is "ready to start planning and working on things for the upcoming school year." The board also approved a group of resignations that included coaches and classroom staff and approved athletic and extracurricular appointments, including several volunteer football assistants and sponsors.
The board granted district administrators permission to hire any additional personnel needed before the August school board meeting; those hires will be ratified by the full board at the August meeting. Motions to approve the resignations and the certified and noncertified hire recommendations were recorded as carried 5-0.
Mr. Hanson reported on staffing for the fall and summer construction projects and provided the district calendar milestones: new staff orientation is July 31, staff work day and elementary open house are Aug. 5, and the first student day is Aug. 6.
