Cargill plans to resume rail deliveries; Mentone officials flag crossing and emergency-response concerns

Town employee Josh Shepherd told the council such delays could affect the fire department's emergency response. Council members discussed the need for additional signage and routing/clearance measures for semi-truck traffic and to reduce the risk of blocked crossings.
No formal mitigation plan or funding source was approved at the meeting; council members said they will coordinate with Cargill and relevant agencies about required signage and routing details before operations begin.
