Youngtown Manager reports $385,000 CDBG award; 142-unit apartment proposed near Confederation property

Town Manager Brian Stutsman provided several operational and development updates at the March 5 meeting. He reported meeting with the owner of the Confederation property, who is proposing a 142-unit apartment complex, and meeting with Ulysses' owners to discuss property security and leasing practices intended to prevent deterioration.
Stutsman said the Town was awarded $385,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Library and Museum expansion. He also reported one active camp in Youngtown on private property had been removed and that the property would be retained for 30 days. Other items included positive outreach with Park & Sons, receipt of PNC Bank papers for review, an SRMG (Salt River Material Group) easement appraisal valued at $10,110.00, biweekly coordination meetings between staff and Community Development, a March 2 Zoom with the Town engineer about the roundabout configuration, a planned meeting with the County about the 111th Avenue pedestrian crossing, and training from Flock on the Raven system.
Stutsman said staff will continue to coordinate project planning, pursue grant opportunities for infrastructure, and bring any items requiring council action back to the council for authorization.
