Wynnedale Town Council approves minutes, hears grant, ADA and drainage updates

The Wynnedale Town Council met May 13, 2025, at council member Jarnell Craig’s home. Ann Hildner, president, called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. The council moved to approve the April 8, 2025 meeting minutes; Sue Rice, council member, made the motion and Conor Lee, council member, seconded.
The treasurer reported receipt of a $2,500 second installment tied to a May 1 consulting invoice. Ann Hildner moved to approve the treasurer’s report; Conor Lee seconded. The report was received and filed for audit; no vote tally was recorded in the minutes.
Judy Gruber, an invited presenter, provided a brief update on the CCMG grant. Gruber said June start times were discussed and that the contractor will hand-deliver notices 48 hours before work begins, with an email notice a week in advance and an 8 a.m. start time. She also reported the application for north Wynnedale roadwork is delayed until Fall 2025 and that there are eight ADA-compliance issues noted.
Under new business the council generally discussed dumpster rules and ADA compliance for driveways and roadways; no formal motions on those topics were recorded. Councilors also noted a crime-watch and traffic study should be wrapped up by Memorial Day, with an update expected at the next town hall meeting.
Council member Sue Rice raised drainage concerns for a drain adjacent to Walter Smith’s property and said the water company is responsible for draining water while the city Department of Public Works (City DPW) is responsible for structural repairs. Council member Jarnell Craig offered to investigate the situation and explore whether a service could assist homeowners.
The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m. Minutes were recorded by Conor Lee. The council listed its next meeting as June 10, 2025, at Fitness Farm.
