Wynnedale council approves North Wynnedale paving estimate, OKs tree removal and sanctuary cleanup

The Wynnedale Town Council on Sept. 9 approved a cost estimate for the North Wynnedale CCMG road project and voted unanimously to contract for tree removal and to clear invasive plants at the town-owned Bird Sanctuary.
The council approved the North Wynnedale Project 2025-2 cost estimate and the submission of ADA and Title VI compliance documentation required for the project and associated grant processes. No mover or roll-call vote for the road project was recorded in the minutes; the council recorded the item as approved during old business.
Sue Rice told the council she had collected three estimates to remove two trees in South Wynnedale and identified the lowest bid as $1,775. Conor Lee moved to accept the lowest bid; Cheryl McBride seconded, and the council voted unanimously to approve the contract for tree removal.
Rice also reported invasive plant overgrowth on the north side of the town-owned Bird Sanctuary and presented a $750 quote from town resident and mower Josh Darring to finish clearing the area and haul debris. Ann Hildner moved to approve the $750 expenditure; Conor Lee seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes show the council handled the three approvals by recorded motions and unanimous votes. The council reiterated that the 2026 budget will be considered at the next meeting, which is scheduled for Oct. 14, 2025 at 7 p.m. at Fitness Farm.
