Wynnedale council approves 2025 road-repair plan, to seek CCMG grants and names ADA coordinator

Wynnedale, Jan. 14, 2025 — The Wynnedale Town Council approved its 2025 road improvement plan and moved to pursue CCMG grant funding to carry out mill treatments and crack sealing outlined in the town's Asset Management Plan.
Ann Hildner, who called the meeting to order, moved to adopt the 2025 repair list from the town's five-year Asset Management Plan; Cheryl McBride seconded the motion, and the minutes record the council approved it. The plan, as filed with the town, replaces a previously proposed micro-surface double treatment on one line item with a mill treatment.
Council materials and discussion identified the projects slated for 2025 under the CCMG application due Jan. 31, 2025: mill treatment for Wynnedale, Wilshire and Knollton (to the Wilshire dead end) and crack sealing for Roland, Knollton and the Knollton & Wilshire intersection. Council member Jarnell Craig pressed for more information after noting that no North Wynnedale roads are scheduled for 2025 treatment; council members explained that the current application funds work in calendar year 2025 while the AMP schedules micro-surface double treatments for North Wynnedale streets in 2026. Craig requested a week to investigate and follow up with staff and the engineer.
The council also discussed funding: minutes note the town holds $56,000 in COVID-era funds that must be obligated by April 30, 2025. Council members said the town may apply for CCMG grants in January and again in July; award notices typically arrive in May or June. In an addendum dated Jan. 17, 2025, a follow-up meeting with road improvement chair Judy Gruber and engineer Dave Kieser recorded the decision to submit a second CCMG application in July 2025 to fund the 2026 North Wynnedale projects.
Members were told an ADA transition plan is required to satisfy the grant and the meeting record references "Title XI requirements" as stated in the minutes. Ann Hildner agreed to serve as the town's ADA coordinator for grant purposes.
