The council approved specifications for a proposed park pavilion presented by Mark Fruits of the Park Improvement Committee; Kyle Campbell moved to approve the specifications, Andrew Lorenz seconded, and the motion carried. Janet Alexander was directed to place advertising for the pavilion specifications.
Town Marshal Jared Kirby reported 45 calls for September and presented a speed trailer report; the council approved purchasing two pole-mounted radar speed signs (motion by Kyle Campbell, second by Curt Hadley).
Town Attorney Stu Weliever introduced Karla Rice, who read a letter on behalf of Phil and Jeff Bane offering to donate the former 'Spartan Inn' to the town for use as a town hall and community center. After discussion the council voted to table the donation (motion to table by Andrew Lorenz, second by Kyle Campbell). The minutes do not record further due diligence or timeline for reconsideration.
Other operational items included an update that UMAC will flush hydrants Oct. 23 and a public comment suggesting a radio fundraising ad for the park.
