Wingate council adopts 2025 budget, approves $14,899 insurance renewal and routine financials

The Wingate Town Council adopted the 2025 Town Budget at its Oct. 15 meeting. Curt Hadley moved to approve the budget ordinance, Andrew Lorenz seconded, and the motion carried.
Clerk-Treasurer Janet Alexander presented reconciled financial reports for September 2024, including fund and appropriation reports, bank statements and reconciliations; the council approved the financial reports and an accounts payable docket totaling $45,170.51 (motion by Andrew Lorenz, second by Kyle Campbell).
The council also approved renewal of the Astra—NFP general liability and cyber security insurance with a premium of $14,899.00 due this week; the board authorized Council President Kyle Campbell to sign the required paperwork and directed Suzy Bass to submit the payment online to avoid mailing delays.
