Board approves personnel ratification and several consent items; media center naming honored
Summary
Following executive session, the board approved the superintendent's employment ratification report for August and approved the consent agenda minutes; the board also unanimously voted to name Bluffton Elementary's media center for longtime media specialist Victoria Moody.
After returning from executive session, the board approved a motion to accept the superintendent's recommendations for employment on the 08/01/2025–08/31/2025 personnel ratification report. The motion was moved from the floor and seconded; recorded votes in the boardroom and online members signified support.
Later in the meeting the board approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from prior board meetings (06/24/2025 and 07/08/2025). Also during the operations committee portion of the meeting the board voted unanimously to name the Bluffton Elementary School media center in honor of Victoria Moody in recognition of her 26 years of service as the building’s media specialist.
Board members publicly thanked recruiters, HR staff and principals for work filling vacancies and noted the district reduced vacancy numbers over the year.
Next steps: HR and the superintendent's office will continue recruitment and the district will execute the media-center naming in coordination with the school.
