Zionsville board adopts 2026 facility usage fee schedule with waiver authority for superintendent

The Zionsville Community Schools Board of Trustees approved a revised facility usage fee schedule for 2026 at its Feb. 9 meeting. Assistant Superintendent of Operations Matthew Doublestein presented the schedule, which updates fees to recapture utilities, cleanup and wear-and-tear costs for non-district events while retaining cost-neutral access for certain feeder and district-related groups in accordance with policy 7510.
Doublestein said the fee tiers recognize differences between organizations that are feeder programs or district outgrowths and groups that are independent of the district. Trustees asked questions about current contracts and whether quoted costs for upcoming uses would change; Doublestein said quoted costs would not be adjusted and that organizations must provide liability insurance prior to facility use. The board authorized the superintendent or designee to waive certain fees when appropriate.
Trustee Jennifer Valentine moved to approve the 2026 ZCS Facility Usage Fee Schedule and to authorize the superintendent or designee to waive the assessment of certain fees; Trustee Christy Wessel-Powell seconded. The motion passed 5-0.
