The Zionsville Community Schools Board voted Feb. 9 to authorize a new demographic projection study from the Indiana Business Research Center (IBRC) at a cost of $26,500.
Superintendent Rebecca Coffman said ZCS has relied on IBRC demographic studies since 1998 and that previous IBRC projections showed 96–98% accuracy. The district's practice is to update a 10‑year projection every two years to account for newly approved residential developments. The board approved funding from the Operations Fund, with payment to be made in two equal installments of $13,250.
Michael Berg moved to approve the IBRC study as proposed; Dr. Christy Wessel-Powell seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 5–0.
