Volunteers needed for playground and skatepark cleanup May 10; Town Manager to advise on brush disposal

Kim Brooks, project manager, announced a volunteer cleanup for the playground and skatepark on May 10 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, focused on garbage pickup, weeding/trimming, small tree removal where safe, brush cutting to the ridge east of the park, and raking bark back in place. Volunteers were asked to bring safety goggles, bug repellent and gloves; tools and some power equipment will be provided by Kim Brooks and Mike Hosking.
The minutes note one constraint: volunteers should avoid removing pines until Isom Sargent can review them upon his return (name spelling indicated as uncertain in the minutes). The committee said disposal of removed brush is pending direction from the Town Manager. The event is budgeted at $0 with all services and supplies volunteer-provided; lunch and refreshments will be supplied for volunteers.
Kim will finalize volunteer lists and send a reminder email May 4 or 5 with details. The committee asked for a non-leftover-volunteer to handle hot-dog setup and lunch distribution, and volunteers were asked to provide additional hand tools if available.
