Meridian Hills council to fill seat after Councilor Field moves; special meeting tentatively set Dec. 17

Town Attorney Ryan Mann explained that, once the position is vacated by a resignation letter delivered to the Clerk‑Treasurer and the Council President, the remaining Council must fill the vacancy within 30 days. The meeting to act on the vacancy is called by the Clerk‑Treasurer with written notice at least 10 days before the special meeting. Councilors Greg Jacoby and Zach Gordon will serve as the nominating committee; Councilor Field intends to resign on or about Nov. 18 and the Council tentatively scheduled a special meeting for Dec. 17 at 7:00 p.m. to consider filling the remainder of the term.
Councilor Jacoby asked for names of interested individuals to be forwarded to him as he and Councilor Gordon compile nominations prior to the special meeting.
