The Window Rock Unified School District Governing Board unanimously approved several personnel measures Nov. 18, including the SY 2025-26 personnel schedule, authorization of additional classified positions, and an hourly rate change to comply with Arizona’s minimum wage increase.
Board members approved setting the classified hourly rate at $15.15 per hour effective Jan. 1, 2026, and adopted a classified salary schedule to reflect that change. The items were consolidated under district business and moved by Dr. Jacquelyne Wauneka, seconded by Stephanie Calabaza; the motion carried 5-0.
The board did not provide additional public detail on the number of new classified positions or budgeted salary totals during the meeting; staff follow-up and budget integration were implied by the approval.
