Selectmen adopt Henniker Community Wildfire Protection Plan to boost preparedness and grant eligibility

The Henniker Board of Selectmen unanimously adopted the Henniker Community Wildfire Protection Plan presented by town staff and fire department partners.
Diane told the board the plan was a collaborative, data‑driven effort between the fire department, town staff, the New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands, and regional emergency management partners, produced over several months. She said the plan complements the town hazard mitigation plan, provides a wildfire‑specific risk assessment, and can qualify the town for wildfire‑protection grants to fund dry hydrants or equipment.
The board voted to authorize the chair (Chris Blombach) to sign the plan on behalf of the board. Officials noted the plan enhances the town's preparedness, clarifies priorities for grant applications, and will be publicly available to residents and committees.
The adoption received brief board praise; the vote to adopt the plan was 4–0.
