Tusayan council approves consent agenda, later authorizes trail‑building contract

On Aug. 13 the Tusayan Town Council approved the consent agenda covering routine administrative items and several resolutions.
Mayor Clarinda Vail moved to approve Consent Agenda Items 6.A, 6.B, 6.C, 6.D, 6.E, 6.F, 6.G and 6.I as presented and pulled Items 6.H and 6.J for separate discussion. The motion was seconded by Council Member Josh Collet and carried with all councilors voting aye.
Town Manager Hendrix reported there was nothing to present for Item 6.H (Community Garden Design Services) at this meeting and said staff will explore options consistent with prior council direction. Regarding Item 6.J, Hendrix said staff recommended authorizing the town to finalize and execute a contract for trail‑building services and make requisite payments. Council Member Collet moved that authorization, Vice Mayor Brush seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Other items noted during reports: staff said a congressional spending request for crosswalks passed an initial round but did not pass the second round; the Cookout Site was expected to be leased imminently; and the town ended the year about 25% below projected revenue.
