Town Manager Brian Stutsman reported that he, the Mayor and El Mirage officials visited the wash and observed multiple active and recently used camps; the Mayor and Vice Mayor planned a May 4 coordination meeting with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and El Mirage Police Department to increase enforcement against trespassing in the wash. Council and MCSO officials noted enforcement will require careful documentation and coordination; Captain Jerez said MCSO is resuming enforcement of bicycle laws slowly and stressed proper procedure.
