Board schedules plant tour and leaf pickup; resident raises sewer-flushing concern

Public works staff told the Waukesha City Board of Public Works on Sept. 18 that a clean water plant tour is scheduled for 10:00 the next day and that the city will reuse last year’s rotated leaf-pickup schedule with improved mapping to show residents the week their pickup is expected. Staff also said Silvernail Road is targeted to reopen next week as summer construction wraps up.
During the reports period a resident said crews were "over flushing sewers on my street today" and noted a manhole cover issue in front of his house. Staff responded that the sewers in front of the house and on that street are in excellent condition. The comment was recorded during general reports and no formal action was taken.
The board did not change the leaf-pickup approach; staff said more detailed scheduling information will be published and a tracking map will be available so residents can narrow the expected pickup window. The meeting then adjourned.
