Wolcottville — At its June 3 meeting the Town Council approved routine claims and reapproved claims from May 6, 2025, and approved the previous meeting’s minutes. The council approved a demolition permit for 1775 E. 765 S. and required the contractor to coordinate sewer-line inspection with Wastewater Superintendent Ralphie Mostey when lines are cut and reconnected.
Utility Clerk Tiffany Sprunger presented a sewer-credit adjustment for Renee Fatcone, who had been billed for 24,750 gallons and a total charge of $472.64; the council approved a $87.81 credit to her sewer charge.
Clerk-Treasurer Heidi Huff recommended laying off a part-time Streets and Parks employee due to financial constraints and authorized Vice President Steven F. Cords to speak with the employee about the layoff. Huff reported a nonprofit would use Wolcott Mills School to provide free lunches to children 18 and under during the summer; the council nominated Eva Woodworth to help run the program and waived the pavilion rental fee at Taytor Park for the Reason for Hope event on July 31. Johnson Township Fire Department will fundraise to support festival fireworks.
The council also moved to repeal Ordinance 2021-06-01-B; the motion carried. Most motions were recorded in the minutes as "all in favor; motion carried."
