Elk County tables proposed CYS solicitor contract, approves child advocate and placement renewals

Chief Clerk Pat Rob told the board the proposed contract for the children and youth solicitor (identified on the agenda by first name Becky) was placed on the agenda in final form but required additional negotiation after new issues surfaced; he recommended tabling the item. "My recommendation would be to table this contract until we work on some of those final details," Rob said. The board voted to table the solicitor contract.
Nancy Baker, director of Children & Youth Services, described the other items as routine annual renewals. Commissioners approved a renewal for the child advocate attorney Danielle Malo at a listed annual rate of $13,670.86 with additional hours at $75 per hour, and renewed county contracts with Pathways Adolescent Center and Perseus House for child placements for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 contract year. Baker said the renewals keep those providers in the county’s stable of placement options.
