Elk County commissioners approved two administrative items affecting county technology and mapping services: a one-year renewal for an aerial imagery library and a non-monetary change to the county’s Microsoft licensing reseller.
Tyler Daniels, head of the assessment department, described the imagery service as a way to provide municipalities with the latest Eagle View flyovers to track building and construction activity. "It gives us the ability to put out to the municipalities the latest Eagle View flyover from three years ago," Daniels said, adding the system helps assessment staff, municipal partners and county offices such as the sheriff and 911. The one-year subscription covers up to 125 registered users with 25 concurrent users at a cost presented to the board as $2,500 per year; commissioners approved the renewal by voice vote.
IT staff explained that CCAP’s licensing contract is moving to SHI International and that the change is administrative without added cost. "We're in our third and final year. Um so all pricing is locked in until after that and negotiations will start," the IT speaker said, noting the reseller change was intended to preserve county savings.
Both items were approved or acknowledged in open session. The county did not provide further implementation dates or vendor contract numbers during the meeting.
