Commissioners renew KOZ designation for Timber Run to support prospective Chance Aluminum development

Lycoming County commissioners voted to renew the Keystone Opportunity Zone (KOZ) designation for Timber Run Industrial Park in Brady Township to support anticipated industrial development.
Jason told commissioners the property previously held KOZ status and that the county has worked with Brady Township and the Montgomery Area School District on the renewal. He said the county is working toward a signed agreement with Chance Aluminum for roughly 250 acres; one prerequisite for that development is the KOZ renewal. "One of the key things for their development is the KOZ renewal," Jason said.
Officials said a survey issue delayed an earlier closing; that matter has been addressed and a local firm (LDG) is expected to assist. With local approvals in place, the last local step was the county commissioners' approval; staff will forward the completed package to the Commonwealth for state review and final sign‑off.
The motion to approve Resolution 2026‑15 passed by voice vote. Commissioners said they have been targeting development of that site for years and welcomed the prospect of additional industrial investment in the county.
