Jordan Telleson elected chair of Stoughton Public Works Committee

Jordan Telleson was elected chair of the Stoughton Public Works Committee at the committee’s meeting Monday evening, following nominations and a voice vote.

The committee nominated and confirmed Lisa Reeves as vice chair. The votes were taken during routine new-business proceedings after the committee approved the April 27 minutes.

Committee members nominated Telleson and he said, "I accept," before the group voted to appoint him chair. Lisa Reeves was nominated and seconded for vice chair and likewise won the committee’s approval.

The leadership change positions Telleson as the committee’s representative on the city's CIP committee. Members noted that the new chair will need to pay close attention to upcoming CIP schedules and coordination with other boards.

The committee then proceeded to substantive agenda items, including a consultant presentation on the city’s comprehensive-plan update and discussion of a proposed ordinance defining road-construction hours. The committee did not delay the transportation funding resolution that it later approved to forward to council.

Next steps: Telleson will assume chair duties immediately and serve as the committee’s liaison to the CIP process; the committee’s next regular meeting will include continued reviews of draft comprehensive-plan chapters and the full construction-hours ordinance when staff returns with a resolution-form draft.
