Selectboard approves Road Task Force, allows non‑resident volunteer to serve

The discussion moved to road conditions after the board heard from residents about increased heavy‑truck traffic to a quarry on Taunton Drive. Selectman Bamford raised concerns about extra loads of granite and a Buell family notice that a large project had been commissioned. The board asked Selectman and Road Commissioner Gregory Ring to inspect the reported damage and any trees that may need removal.
Town Manager Ray Weintraub also reported seasonal weight‑limit signs had been taken down for the season. Residents raised several locations of concern, including a reported shoulder problem near 140 Flanders Pond Road; Weintraub asked Ring to inspect that site as well.
The town will continue recruiting Road Task Force members as people step forward. Rob Surette will meet town staff on May 21 to confirm his role and next steps. The Selectboard did not take a vote on a formal road repair schedule at the May 20 meeting.
