Poseyville council appoints Jason Kolley as volunteer fire chief for 2025–2026

The Poseyville Town Council unanimously voted Dec. 13 to appoint Jason Kolley as the 2025–2026 chief of the Poseyville Volunteer Fire Department.
President Justin Rutledge said he met with Kolley, Clerk-Treasurer Jodie Rankin and Township Trustee Charles Carter before the appointment to discuss communication with Town Hall, budgeting, departmental concerns and budget rules. Rutledge said the meeting produced “excellent suggestions” and that Kolley will have authority to select his administrative cabinet. Rankin reported Kolley named Jeff Droege as Deputy Chief and Austin Ahrens as Assistant Chief in an email provided for website updates.
Randall Rankin moved to appoint Kolley and Mike Baehl seconded; roll-call votes were recorded as Justin Rutledge (yes), Mike Baehl (yes), Randall Rankin (yes). The council did not record additional operational directives or a timeline for implementation at the meeting.
