Elizabeth Laub told the council she was speaking for multiple residents and defended Chief Susan Scofield, saying many are "very thrilled with the Chief’s performance" and that "the truth will eventually come out."
Council declined to comment on the lawsuit during the meeting. Several residents returned during the public‑comment follow‑up to press for clarity on sidewalk maintenance responsibilities and grant availability for sewer work. The Mayor said he had not received correspondence from ODOT about a related grant and asked residents to watch the recorded meeting for fuller context.
