The Village of Timberlake council approved a one-year contract with the Lake County Board of Commissioners for central dispatch and communications services at its Oct. 15 meeting.
Council suspended the three-reading rule for Resolution No. 2024-24; Jerry Joyce moved to approve and Mrs. Marra seconded. The Fiscal Officer, John H. Roskos, told council the contract will cost the village approximately $25,774 and does not include quarterly backbone charges for Fire Rescue and Police of about $2,000 per quarter. He said the contract length is one year instead of the prior three-year term and that payments will increase annually by the CPI with a maximum 4% increase, which aligns with the proposed 2025 budget.
The resolution passed by unanimous roll call among members present. Council did not vote to adopt a multi-year term at this meeting and indicated the contract terms were consistent with budget forecasts.
