Timberlake council approves 2025 tax levies and authorizes road-salt agreement with Eastlake

At its Sept. 17 meeting, the Village of Timberlake Council unanimously approved Resolution No. 2024-21 to accept amounts and rates from the Budget Commission and to certify the necessary tax levies to the County Auditor for 2025.

Fiscal Officer John H. Roskos said the measure is the second half of the tax-budget process and confirms the inside and outside millage levies that will collect revenue next year. The council suspended the three-reading rule before voting. Nancy Marra moved to approve the resolution and Kevin Thompson seconded; the roll call vote recorded all members in favor.

The council also suspended rules and approved Resolution No. 2024-22 authorizing the mayor and Fiscal Officer to negotiate and execute an agreement with the City of Eastlake to supply road salt for the 2024–25 winter season. Kevin Thompson moved to approve that resolution and Jerry Joyce seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The minutes note that Eastlake Council will pass a confirming resolution and the parties will finalize the rate.

Both approvals were recorded by roll call with every listed council member voting yes. The actions conclude the village’s immediate budget and winter-preparation authorizations; the salt agreement requires execution by the mayor and fiscal officer and subsequent confirmation by Eastlake.
