Attorney T.J. Rethlake presented a remediation and abatement schedule for 119–121 N. Meridian St. at the Greentown Town Council meeting on Aug. 6. Rethlake, representing property owner Larry Hinesley, handed out contractor proposals and a preliminary timeline for cleanup and structural repairs required under an April 25, 2024 order.
The schedule provided to the council calls for the following staged work: during the week of Aug. 19, Shearer Masonry will repair gaps and windows to prevent birds from entering the building; the week of Aug. 26 (approximate, dependent on masonry completion) A Team Restoration LLC will remove tarps, bird droppings and dead animals and vacuum affected floors; the week of Sept. 2, Winners Choice II Inc. will finish property cleaning and prepare surfaces for Hayes Brothers, Inc., which is to disinfect floors and walls and clear contents of a rear garage before beginning roof repairs. Hayes Brothers, Inc. will order window fabrication with an estimated 3–5 week lead time. The timeline anticipates coordination between Hayes Brothers and Shearer Masonry beginning around Sept. 30 for structural repairs, window installation and rear garage metal roofing, with project completion targeted for the week of Oct. 28 or Nov. 4, per the April 25, 2024 order.
Council President Scott Deyoe introduced the item and accepted the submission of materials from Rethlake. The timeline and contractor estimates were presented as the council’s update; no formal council vote or additional directives were recorded on the abatement during this meeting.
The presentation emphasized the sequence of cleanup, disinfection and structural repair steps and noted external dependencies, including the multi‑week fabrication lead time for windows. The owner, Larry Hinesley, was identified in the presentation materials and represented by Rethlake.
The council did not record a vote related to the timeline at the meeting; the schedule provided a projected completion window and the council will track implementation at future meetings or through administrative follow up.
