Lake Charles has selected WHLC Architecture in partnership with Sasaki to lead the design of a future indoor sports complex, Mayor Marshall Simeon announced.
"Together, these firms will help create a premier facility for local families, athletes, and visitors by supporting recreation, [music] tourism, and economic development throughout the region," Simeon said.
Simeon also said construction is underway on a fully inclusive playground at Lock Park that is intended to create a welcoming space where children of all abilities can play, learn and grow together. The playground and the planned sports complex were presented as investments that support recreation and economic development in the region.
