The ordinance sets a uniform hourly rate of $1.23 for assigned stand-by duty and directs the Parks superintendent to publish written guidelines for administering the duty. The provision takes effect Jan. 1, 2026, and the council approved the ordinance at the same meeting it was introduced, by a 4-0 roll call vote.
Councilors discussed the need for stand-by coverage and authorized the Clerk-Treasurer and Parks superintendent to implement the pay and administrative guidelines as specified in the ordinance. Ordinance No. 1842-B amends the town’s compensation ordinance to include the stand-by provision for the Parks department.
